WELCOME

A very warm welcome to all those attending our September services.

If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask.

After each Sunday service refreshments will be served, please stay and enjoy a time of fellowship if you can.

If it is your practice to receive communion in your own church then you are most welcome to do so at our communion services.
If however you would prefer to receive a prayer of blessing, please come forward with everyone else but keep your hands down by your side at the rail

This Month's Bible Focus
Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say, rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.
Philippians 4:4-5

NEWS

PCC Away Day
Members of the PCC enjoyed a time of prayer and contemplation at the Convent of the Holy Name at Oakwood as we continue God's guidance for our churches. All who had attended agreed that it had been a very rewarding experience.

September 29th
Saturday 29th of September saw both churches once more inviting people to join them. St Matthew's brought its patronal celebrations to a close with an open day exhi¬bition and BBQ whilst S1. Giles hosted a coffee morning and sale at the Church Hall on Sheepcote Road. Both these events were successful in encouraging people to come together in fellowship and in raising funds for the mission and ministry of our churches. Our thanks go to all those who gave so generously of their time and money to make these two events so successful.

Harvest Festival
We will be celebrating Harvest in both our Churches on Sunday the 7th of October. At S1. Matthew's the theme will be Farm Africa and we will be raising money for the poor of Africa by asking people to stick coins to a paper plate.
At St. Giles the theme will be the Parable of the Sower and the church will be decorated with Scarecrows.

Back to Church Sunday.
Following our Back to Church Sunday services all of which were well at¬tended, our next task is to continue praying for those who did accept the in¬vitation to come back to church. We must also be aware of others who may be simply waiting to be asked to come along to one of our services.

Church Walk
A church walk around the Killamarsh area is planned for Sunday 4th November. The two hour walk will start at 1pm From outside St. Giles and everyone is welcome to join us. The walk will be led by Bernice Upton and provides an opportunity to spend time together whilst enjoying the beautiful local countryside.

Operation Christmas Child (Shoe Box Appeal)
Our churches are once more being encouraged to join in this annual event which means so much to children in other countries who would otherwise have a Christmas devoid of gifts. Filled shoe boxes need to be returned by November the 4th so that they can be despatched in time for Christmas. For more information please contact our Operation Christmas Child organiser Janet Lambley.

Cafe Aroma
Revd. Helen and Revd. Michael together with members of our churches will be in the Cafe Aroma each Friday from 9.00 am.-noon so please drop in for a chat and a cup of Fair Trade coffee or tea. Everyone is welcome and we will always be pleased to see you.

Bishop Humphrey
The new Bishop of Repton, The Right Reverend Bishop Humphrey Southern has been invited to preside and preach at St. Giles and St. Matthew's and has agreed to do so.
Accordingly it will be our pleasure to have the Bishop .officiate at St. Giles on Sunday 25th November at 10.am and at St. Matthew's on Sunday the 16th December. It is hoped that our churches will be full on both these occasions so please invite your family and friends to come along and welcome the Bishop to our parishes.

Line Dance
There is to be a Line Dance at St. Giles Church Hall including a pie and pea supper on Saturday 20th October at 8pm., everyone welcome
