Fashion and Shopping evening. A fashion and shopping evening is to take place at St. Matthews Renishaw, on Thursday 3rd July @ 7 pm. affording an opportunity for fellowship and to buy good quality ladies clothing at very reasonable prices. Please come along and support this event.
Strawberry Fayre
St. Matthew’s annual Strawberry Fayre will take place on Saturday the 12th July. Please come along and support this lovely event and partake of a Strawberry Cream Tea whilst sitting and chatting with friends, browse the stalls, or take part in the raffle. Whatever you do a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon is guaranteed. Proceedings begin at 2pm so don’t be late!
Holy Land. Revd. Helen and Revd. Michael are leading a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in November 2009. It is hoped that as many people as possible, from our parishes, will be able to join them on this once in a life time opportunity. For more information see either Revd. Helen or Revd. Mick.
Killamarsh Festival and Blessing of the Wells. Revd. Helen will be blessing the Wells on Friday the 4th of July at 5pm. in readiness for the Killamarsh Festival on Saturday the 5th July, during which members of St. Giles will be showcasing “Messy Church,” a new way of doing church for children and young families. Do come along and experience what promises to be a fun way of worshipping the Lord.
Bell Rope Appeal. The Bell ropes at St. Giles Church are wearing thin and it is imperative that we look to replacing them if we wish to continue hearing the bells rung at weddings and special services. £600 is needed for six new ropes. Please give generously.
3C's Cafe. The Cafe AROMA has moved to the Methodist Church on Sheffield Road and with the move comes a new name 3C’s Café representing our mission statement to be Christ in Church and Community. Our thanks go to our Methodist brothers and sisters in Christ for generously allowing us to use their premises.
Old Time Music Hall. An evening of entertainment provided by members of our two churches in the style of an old time music hall. Entertainment includes singing, dancing, monologues, poetry, sing-a-long and more. The bar will also be open. This feast of entertainment is to take place on Saturday 19th July at St. Giles Church Hall beginning at 7pm. Tickets are £3 each with all funds going towards the work and mission of our two churches. There is still time for anyone to come along and showcase their talent at this spectacular occasion just turn up at the rehearsal at 7 pm on July 10th. At St.Giles Church Hall.
Friendship Walk. Walkers and Sponsors Needed for Friendship Walk. A sponsored friendship walk around Rother Valley Country Park is to take place on Saturday 26th July starting at 10.30 am finishing around noon. All funds are to go to St. Giles Church. Please come along and enjoy friendship, fellowship and a walk around this lovely area whilst raising funds towards the work and mission of St. Giles Church or do your bit by sponsoring one of the walkers.
Healing Service The next Service of Prayers for Healing to be held in St. Giles is to be on Tuesday 12th of August at 7.30 pm.
Church outing to Beamish is to take place on September the 6th. Price £23 including entry per adult and £12 per child under 16yrs. Please hurry and book your ticket as this trip is proving to be very popular.

The ‘Praise and Worship’ evening held on June 7th was a great success with members from 4 or 5 different churches coming together to praise the Lord and we look forward to welcoming The All Saints Music Group back at sometime in the future. £180 was raised for Father Georges. Thank you to all who gave so generously.
A Treasure Hunt The Treasure Hunt around Killamarsh took place as planned despite inclement weather conditions and was a huge success; all who took part having a wonderful time with fun, fellowship and food. Thanks go to Mick and Karen Smith for organising this enjoyable event and providing a scrumptious buffet afterwards.
