Killamarsh St Giles FC 6-0 Arbourthorne Community Church

Saturday 8th August 2009

Another flying start by Killamarsh saw the home side race into an early 2-0 lead with two quick moving attacks down either wing. The first was a quick passing move down the left resulting in a deep cross met firmly by N. Hanwell, the second was a good passing move finished off by G. Parsons under the body of the Arbourthorne keeper. This was all that happened for the majority of the first half as the division 1 side held Killamarsh at bay with a good strong defensive display, this was eventually broken on the stroke of half time with a simple finish for new Signing J. Wheelhouse.

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first with Arbourthorne failing to create any chances and Killamarsh continuing to attack a strong well organised defence. The forth goal eventually came from 25 yards as J. Hackford found the bottom corner with a driven left footed strike, this was soon followed by the fifth from L. Walker when the opposition gave away an indirect free kick inside the box for a pass back.

The sixth and final goal was a breakaway finish from E. Coles to seal the victory for Killamarsh, this was another good team performance against a strong division 1 team, next up is the 9 times champions Swallownest Bethesda.
